If you are not privy to the details of Intel's agreement with Acer, you are just making wild-ass guesses.

Yes, but I think it is an educated guess, rather than a wild-ass guess. I don't think there is any doubt that Intel want's to own chipset business for it's processors. Unfortunately, the continues letdowns by Intel's chipset division forced Intel to "share" this business temporarily.

I am just looking a little further down the road, to see how Intel is going to get back on track, and how the 3rd party chipmakers can be shut out when they are no longer needed.

You may be surprised, but I am going to be rooting for Intel when it happens.
