I love being lumped with the un-savvy. And to think at one point I was actually with the SEC. ;) Anyway, the NT/GLW "deal" may complicate the JDSU/SDLI merger -- as there will be one less competitor in the f/o component market place. But I still feel the deal will ultimately go through in one form or another. Product prices WILL come down...and most, if not all customers (NT included imho), will appreciate the benefit to their own bottom line. Not that NT is desperate for such savings at this point, but management is very savvy. Indeed, the NT/GLW deal may not go through because GLW customers actually are disturbed that NT will be their supplier -- since NT is a competitor (that is what the trial balloon was for imo). JDSU really is not. That said, the Street will waver on SDLI/JDSU...and as of right now, there certainly is some doubt.
