On IWA as respects RESERVES. On BMD as respects HOGWASH SICK CDNX reasonning: SEE last line below: BMD""..By applying the company's extraction methods to exploration, Birch Mountain geologists are now able to estimate the level of precious metals within bodies of altered rock. ChuckaHOGWASH THEY DID NOT SAY RESERVE IS HERE ( there ) YET, now did BMD/BHMNF? .."" On IWA, the old cores areas of IWA were trenched over and GPS locations were not recorded, I read in the HALT period there- somewhere. Thus the talk on old CORES and LOGS was not allowed, I hope you remember reading that Russett on the CN News Wires as I definately DID. You see, I felt that was SO IMPORTANT, some weeks ago, I called BMD company and asked to speak to the President, Doug Rowe on that exact fact, and said in that first conversation in about 4 months at that time, keep in mind that Birch should never TRENCH OVER any of the 600 sites in which you have your own cores, Co Developement COC cores and Strathcona Cores, Manitoba Government Sponsored Cores or Electric Logs whicj all toll number in the 700 + drilled to a minn of 10 Meters to 200 + meters in deepth. You see, without taking that GPS reading, the CDNX will say that the old MEASUREMENTS CAN'T BE COUNTED in the FUTURE. He said no he had not heard about it and would definately keep that in mind. So, as one would see, some rules at the CDNX are made up on the go ... not that that is bad, but old COC cores and new ones should have the GUIDLINES WRITTEN UP and an easy referance with a URL be made available to all Junior Miners. And us avid readers/writers, LOL. You see, in my study, I FELT THAT BMD/BHMNF was acting within the framework of both a Junior Resource Company with using CORES, and an R&D Company using NEW TECHNOLOGIES. It is that simple, for me. Chucka- THE NON MATERIAL FACTS rule should be explained more fully, why was it stated with so much info that R & D could not be talked about UNTIL IT IS A MATERIAL FACT...just 6 months ago, BMD was classified as a NON METALLIC MINERAL exploration company and then without fanfar the CDNX changed it to PGM Exploration Company. ( Class ) Seems to me that the CDNX had enuff info 6 months ago to see that the focus was on NEW METALS IN NATURE, and hense; a classification could of been change to TECHNOLOGY COMPANY with R & D status and rules? THE CDNX has not allowed talk on the Patent Pending, why is that? The echange has allowd the class of TECH to be talked about in the last couple BMD NRs so i refer to the UNHALT NR at IWA, BMD did not use words such as INFERRED and INDICATED we scan the paste of BMD NR beklow in bold to show the DIFFERANCE:(s) including drilling programs designed to determine whether the present inferred mineral resource can be upgraded to measured and indicated categories.
International Wayside Gold Mines Ltd IWA Shares issued 37,963,497 2000-05-10 close $2.04 Wednesday Jun 28 2000 Mr. J. Frank Callaghan reports The board of directors of International Wayside Gold Mines announced in Stockwatch April 4, 2000, that a project application for the Cariboo gold project had been submitted to the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office (the EAO). The application, which relates to what is referred to as the Cow Mountain area of the property, was accepted for review by the EAO on April 7, 2000. The company wishes to emphasize that neither a comprehensive prefeasibility study nor an independent feasibility study on the Cow Mountain area has been commissioned, and therefore the economic viability of this project has not been demonstrated. The Cow Mountain area contains no known ore reserves. A substantial amount of work has yet to be carried out, including drilling programs designed to determine whether the present inferred mineral resource can be upgraded to measured and indicated categories. All prior statements made by the company stating or inferring that the Cow Mountain area is economically viable at present gold prices are hereby unconditionally retracted. Such statements include projections of capital costs, annual gold production, minability by open pit methods, reserves, and proposed construction and production time frames. The Cariboo gold project is in the exploration stage and no production decision can be made in the foreseeable future. The application accepted by the EAO is, and is intended to be, conceptual in nature, and any references to projected mining and milling rates, capital and operating costs, and the projected number of employees cannot at this stage be supported by quantitative data. The application was made under the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Act and is intended to provide conceptual level information on proposed mine developments. The purpose for submitting an application is for government agencies, the public and first nations to identify any insuperable obstacles that may exist which might prevent the project being developed. The new Bonanza Ledge discovery has resulted in requests from several major mining companies for property visits and evaluations. The company has been happy to accommodate these requests, which it regards to be in the normal course of business for a junior resource company. In the past several weeks, the company has received written proposals for participation in the project but none has been accepted. Whilst the company will be keeping an open mind with respect to third party participation, the present position of the company is to advance work on the new discovery independently. The company is aware that comparisons have been made between the initial drill intersections at the Bonanza Ledge zone with the grades and thicknesses reported from initial drill results from Eskay Creek and Hemlo. The company cautions that while such comparisons are factually correct, the drilling at the Bonanza Ledge zone is at a very early stage, and there is no present estimate of the size or grade of the mineralized body at Bonanza Ledge. BMD/BHMNF Birch Mountain wishes to clarify certain statements made in Stockwatch June 15, 2000, relating to the discovery of a new form of naturally occurring metal in rocks from its Athabasca property. The discovery was made by Birch Mountain personnel in a university laboratory and was confirmed at a Canadian government laboratory. Further, work conducted in these two laboratories showed that Birch Mountain's patent pending extraction technology was capable of recovering this form of metal into solution. Birch Mountain provided all rock and solution samples to the laboratories for these tests. A statement referring to, "the new form of gold and platinum group metals ..." in Stockwatch June 15, 2000, was not a direct result of the work done in these laboratories. Analyses performed in Birch Mountain's in-house laboratory on rocks from Athabasca detected precious metals in the extract solutions. From these and other previously announced results, including scanning electron microscopy, Birch Mountain believes that the precious metals detected in the extract solutions are related to the new form of metal observed by the third party laboratories. Confirmation of precious metals in the extract solutions has not been independently confirmed and is in the process of verification in cooperation with the CDNX. Birch Mountain also wishes to clarify its status and the evolution of its business model. Research and technology development, by necessity, has gradually become Birch Mountain's primary focus and forms the major part of the company's direct expenditures. Birch Mountain has increasingly directed its efforts toward developing a comprehensive research and technology capability through construction of its laboratory facility and by retaining leading consultants, researchers and laboratories. By evolving into a high-technology company and securing its intellectual property by filing a U.S. patent application, Birch Mountain is positioning itself to identify and exploit opportunities arising from its technology. Today, Birch Mountain is best characterized as a materials technology company that holds the mineral rights to a large land position. Birch Mountain will continue to focus its efforts on developing new technology and as a result, the asset base continues to diversify and the company's value may increasingly reside in its intellectual property.
and the KEY Last LINE that GOT THEM in trouble with the CDNX, I say WHY, no INFERRED WORD ...no INDICATED word, a concept of a MEASUREMENT was said to be implied thus a RESERVE WAS SAID TO OF BEEN SO STATED< hogwash: Birch Mountain Resources Ltd BMD Shares issued 30,733,825 2000-06-14 close $1.4 Thursday Jun 15 2000 Mr. Douglas Rowe reports The company has confirmed the nature of metals on its Athabasca property in tests conducted at the University of Calgary and at the Materials Technology Laboratory of CANMET, Natural Resources Canada. The company has filed for a U.S. patent to protect this discovery and associated proprietary technology. Birch Mountain has confirmed that the form of the metallic elements detected on its Athabasca Prairie Gold property has not previously been reported in nature. The properties of the new form of gold and platinum group metals may explain past problems encountered with both fire assay and wet chemical methods for their detection and recovery. To the knowledge of the company and its consultants from industry, government research and academia, this new discovery has not been documented in the technical literature. As a result, Birch Mountain has initiated broad intellectual property protection of its technology. "Confirmation of a new form of naturally occurring precious metals and advancement of our extraction and recovery technology to the patent pending stage has significant implications for Birch Mountain and for the mining industry," says president Doug Rowe. In response to these developments, Birch Mountain has broadened the scope of its exploration and technology development along four parallel lines of activity: completing a fire assay protocol; developing an extraction and recovery process; defining material properties; and identifying the resource potential. Completing a fire assay protocol Completing a fire assay protocol for this new form of mineralization has been more difficult than expected. Birch Mountain has contracted Strathcona Mineral Services Limited to conduct the fire assay verification testing. Although the company has not yet nominated a fire assay protocol for Strathcona to test, Strathcona has conducted independent sampling of drill core and trench samples. While working to complete a fire assay protocol, Birch Mountain is redirecting more resources toward advancing the precious metal extraction and recovery technology in order to move the project ahead more rapidly. Developing an extraction and recovery process Birch Mountain's technology uses relatively simple methods to extract precious metals into solution. The company is now focusing on developing procedures to recover precious metals in metallic form from these solutions. Recognizing that verification testing is an integral and ongoing part of developing an extraction process, the company has also initiated independent verification of its extraction technology. Defining material properties The hypothesized nature of this previously unreported form of mineralization has been confirmed through work done at the University of Calgary and at CANMET. Because the form of mineralization is new to extractive metallurgy, Birch Mountain is working with specialists who can assist in further characterizing the form and properties of these precious metals to facilitate the development of a fire assay protocol and a commercial extraction and recovery process. Identifying the resource potential Through core examination and electric log studies, Birch Mountain has defined the geological, geochemical and geophysical characteristics of altered rocks in parts of its two-million-acre Athabasca property in northeastern Alberta. By applying the company's extraction methods to exploration, Birch Mountain geologists are now able to estimate the level of precious metals within bodies of altered rock. Looking at your list of halts and suspends I notice many of the companies were halted at the request of the company itself. Water-rock Interaction during diagenesis and thermal recovery, Cold Lake, Alberta. Unpublished Ph. D., University of Calgary, 183 pp.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hugh investigated the nature of water-rock interaction and the resulting changes in mineralogy and rock fabric of lithoclastic rocks after they were subjected to thermal recovery by steam injection. It was found that many of the observations of natural diagenesis could be reproduced during thermal recovery. Results of this study include refinements of aqueous geothermometers for use in monitoring of thermal recovery projects, an understanding of the role of silica activity during diagenesis and a clearer comprehension of the ability of rocks to buffer the composition of pore fluids. The tracing of fluid flow communication paths and an understanding of formation alteration are important results in this thesis. "" |
