re Dr. Mark Heimbuch, new CTO of Luminent, I did a quick search and found that he's an expert in tunable lasers used in WDM communications; he gave presentations in 1997 on them in conjunction with others at fiber optic conferences. Good to have a heavyweight running the R & D! Dee Jay
