These past few days since 3rd successive record earnings release have been enigmatic, painful even, to say the least...Pain though, that repetition of one or two of those plus $12 days that we have experienced in the recent past will ease...Two weeks out, it'll just seem like a bad dream, methinks...The last time AMD had successive quarterly positive earnings of around $0.09 and $0.07 in Q1 and Q2 '97, the stock touched about $50...With the recent successive positive earnings of $0.43, $1.15 and $1.21 and forward guidance suggesting $1 billion in Y2000 earnings, it won't take much for the "big boys" to be jumping in with both feet...My guess is that $70 will be ephemeral as $20 above the '97 price of $50 (on much lowere earnings) just does not compute...I remain wholly convinced that triple digits await in the very near term!!!
