Thomas,
<<Is this a good time to buy drive stocks or will there be better buying opportunities during the next few months?>>

Probably so, with high risk capital. As you may know, this sector has been designated by the Surgeon General as hazardous to mental and physical well-being.
Anyway, coming down the pike are massive rollouts of personal entertainment devices that should suck up any excess capacity late in the coming quarter. Throw in the potential of NAS and you get a fairly compelling story (or a nervous tick).

This will probably be a Thomson/Seagate win.

.... and the pvrs (much discussed)

Thomson might be a better way to play consumer devices (along with SNE, SFA, ERTS, even TOY, Radio Shack or Best Buy) but MXTR and HDD are selling close to cash levels so deserve a long look. Only wish the Seagate debacle had not further sullied the "image" of the sector (in this investor's eyes, anyway).
