I usually don't read much into what they're saying. Most spokemen would simply say something to the effect of "looking forward to a better quarter" or something like that. In most cases, I take it as a grain of salt and nothing more.

But for someone to "qualify" his own forward looking statement, it gets my attention.

FWIW, it may not mean anything; but....
