Hi DR, since you're a long ways away and maybe haven't seen any of these things, I quickly shot a digital image for you and anyone else interested.

I'm sure you noticed the volume, and the movement the last couple of days.

I think word is getting around. No time to label things in this image, so I'll give a clockwise description.

www3.telus.net

Top left - A Hilti Dynamic Anchor (HDA) retail about $4 Cdn each. Many parts, etc etc.

Middle top - The "gizmo" SFU's anchor of the same size, with the same or better load holding, etc, retail, with lots of margin for SFU and the dealers....about $1 Cdn.

Top right - a couple of "gizmos" (upside down) as they would be drilled into a form before the concrete is poured. If you look closely at the larger one you'll notice the green plastic insert looks a little different that past versions. I think this is to accommodate a lock washer of some sort ...and I won't even try to explain what that extra bit does here...I'll either get it wrong, or it'll be too long...suffice to say it makes the giz even better.

Bottom row - various larger sizes of the "gizmo" anchor.

I also checked out a new HDA catalog, and notice this line in it- "the revolutionary HDA undercut anchor behaves like a cast-in-place anchor." Interesting, now who all has those? I suspect word has spread far and wide.

One other thing. Just for fun do a search of "composite utility poles", here's a quick start on that.

Then imagine, being able to make these two at a time, in a surprisingly short time, in a surprisingly small space...both of which make them, comparatively, VERY inexpensive to manufacture. Glen De Freitas is a very talented fellow, genius IMO.

I'm sticking with SFU.V for Katie's y2k contest for my CDNX pick....LOL it's the only chance I have, I think my Naz and BB picks don't have a chance..
