Anyone know how much MOT paid LGE for the Zenith Network Division?

All along the bankruptcy path, I believed that the Network Division was the key asset of Zenith and traveled to Chihuahua to inspect the plant to confirm. I observed tens of millions of dollars of production equipment and facilities that were pumping out a huge amount of IRDs for News Corp subsidiaries and STBs for Bell South.

None of this was disclosed in the bankruptcy hearings much to my chagrin and I could not get the Equity Committee to pursue this path. They entirely focused on the value of Zeniths 8-VSB patents which are turning out to be worthless.

LGE has not given up on 8-VSB and continues to lobby the FCC (especially the chairman), CEM, ATSC, NAB and Congress to maintain 8-VSB as the DTV terrestrial delivery standard even though it is a faulty system when compared to COFDM.

Koo knows how to play the political game and just might win. He has spread his largess into the ATSC and CEM and elsewhere including a $100,000 donation to the George Bush Presidential library.

If Koo wins, America loses. Less than 40,000 HDTV receivers have been sold in over three years in the US while the European COFDM system had sold approximately 1 million receivers in less than two years.
