I hope the recent CDMA order has proven otherwise, however 2G cdma is naturally not something for the company to push as hard as GSM - if 80% of the world (geo) is GSM why change it?

The takeover of the San Diego bit was really to delve into cdma2000 on existing IS-95. The experience of WCDMA was gained back at home in Sweden and in Japan with NTTDoCoMo. Why question if they have CDMA knowledge...they do. CDMA, as you know has been around sometime, it was Qcom that first commercialised it (with much help from Korea I may add) and that was the old war about not being able to make it work properly (due to complexities). Good for Irwin, but that doesn't mean Ericsson were not playing with it for the last 10 years too. I seem to recall the first wideband CDMA anywhere in the world was shown by Ericsson and certainly not Qcom.

Still think they are in a great position for now, near term and long term for infra deals.
