Hi all; The complete list of OKI memories covered by the big new agreement: OKI Synchronous DRAM Size Part# Type 8Mb MSM54V25632A SGRAM 256Kx32 (obsolete) 16Mb MS82V16520 SGRAM 512Kx32 (about to be obsolete) 16Mb MSM56V16160F SDRAM 1Mx16 (about to be obsolete) 16Mb MSM56V16800E SDRAM 2Mx8 (about to be obsolete) They appear to make no DDR or RDRAM, so it is unlikely that Rambus will see lots of royalties on those products. They did use to make concurrent RDRAM, but that is now obsolete: okisemi.com OKI's only Synchronous DRAM is of size 16Mb or smaller. According to Micron, 16Mb is a size that is no soon to be obsoleted (note that it is crossed out): micron.com To put this in proper perspective, lets take a look at what Samsung offers in the way of SGRAM and SDRAM (in "mass production", not including engineering samples or development): Samsung Synchronous DRAM SDRAM: 16Mb 2 types 64Mb 7 types 128Mb 6 types 256Mb 3 types SGRAM/GSDRAM: 16Mb 1 type 32Mb 1 type 64Mb 2 types DDR SGRAM: 64Mb 1 type OKI's largest SDRAM is 1/16th the size of the leading parts from Samsung (or Micron). The OKI parts are verging on obsolescence, and Rambus can't rely on them for much in the way of future royalties. It is well known that OKI is exiting the commodity business (and it shows in their above product list). Rambus better have a real agreement with a real memory maker up its sleeve somewhere.
