Hi Will L.
GNTX wants to have the rear-view mirror be the center brain for communications and position data, and the driver interface. They make some convincing arguments but I'm not sure that a central dash touch display isn't in the cards for new cars. Still GNTX is right about the rear-view location for GPS (and other?) communications.
Re: VSH From their PR: The new family of high-intensity LEDs features a full color range of devices with a wide viewing angle and high luminous flux for vehicle brake lights, taillights, and turn signals, as well as traffic signs, outdoor message panels, and warning lights. The Vishay Telefunken TELUX(TM) LEDs are offered in red, yellow, true-green, blue-green, blue, and white versions. They are packaged in a clear, industry-standard 7.62 mm square package optimized for maximum light output. Luminous flux for the new devices ranges from 650 mlm for the white TLWW 7600 to 2000 mlm for the red TLWR 7600 at plus 85 degrees C Tamb. Designed to yield a precise and homogeneous spatial radiation pattern, the TELUX lens allows the use of fresnel optics or parabolic reflectors with consistent results.
Thanks for the heads up! Telefunken is funky tellin' <groan>
