CNBC Interview Summary:

CarlY did a great job. He was very calm and professional. I was impressed.

He addressed the question of whether Palm foresees the future of a consumer having 2 devices: 1) handheld PDA, and 2) wireless phone. He said some will, but Palm will be incorporating voice (within 18 months) and Palm will have a larger screen for data transmission that consumers will demand.

Qcom's old division has a first generation that is selling Palm O/S units with audio. This will only continue to improve.

Handspring is part of the Palm O/S world. CarlY was asked a couple of questions pertaining to why Handspring's products were perceived to be more innovative and developed. New Palm devices will be announced in the fall.

Mark Haynes owns shares due to a long-term holding of 3Com.

CarlY addressed the issue of arbitrage and IPO fever for the high volatility of Palm. Now the company is separated, and can focus.

Overall a enthusiastic interview.

I would have asked about the component shortage issue, but that's just me!

Have a great day. ad
