The UPS truck arrived a little bit ago with a package from performancediesel.com

Took me all of about 15 minutes to put the chip in (most of which was for cleaning the connector in the truck) and button it back up for a quick test drive.

"Quick" being the operative word. Wow! Always wondered what 600 lb ft of torque would feel like. Now I know. :)

Previously, my truck's (99 F350 Crew Cab with Duallies and Powerstroke) quarter mile times could've been measured with a calendar. Now I think a sundial would do it. Can't wait to see what it's like pulling the travel trailer next week. I imagine the guys in the Chevies won't even see me going by. <g>

Haven't had a chance to get it out on the open road with a load to see if the mushy shifting has gone away (they said it will), but in my short drive I was able to tell that the turbo was spooling up at far lower revs. And the increased torque was very noticeable.

When I got back, I put in the new K&N air filter, but haven't driven it since. I expect it'll be even better. After 15k miles, the old filter was amazingly loaded up with grease, gravel dust, and former insect life.
