I raised some cash and then loaded up on a new emerging pioneer in the broadband area -- Avici (AVCI)....IMO, my 3 purchases of AVCI in the 90s will seem like a steal a few months from now. This is THE HOTTEST sector and this firm has Morgan Stanley as a lead underwriter as well as some great investors. It traded up over 200% on one of the worst days for the Naz.....just think what it could do on a good day <G>.....IMO, its like a venture investment. Yet, I have heard great things about this company from a friend in the industry. At the current price AVCI has a market cap. that is less than 1/8 of JNPR's....I feel there is plenty of room to run and it may even be bought out (Nortel owns about 17% of the firm)....Watch this one....and have a great weekend too ;-) Regards, Scott BTW, here is a great review of AVCI... smallcapreview.com Summary <<Avici expects revenues to increase 337% to $2.2 million for the three months ending 6/30. No doubt the company is losing money but revenues are growing faster than expenses. With commitments received from Williams Corporation and Enron Broadband Services as well as a 17% minority stake by Nortel Networks we like to think that there is a lot to Avici's TSR. The company presents a speculative play in broadband providers. We think Avici instantly presents itself as a takeover target. Avici has the most dynamic broadband product on the market the question becomes is the broadband market ready for Avici or are they before their time? Any ISP with serious resolve to provide customer service and demand for bandwidth resources is going to take a hard look at Avici, we think you should too.>>
