>How do you rank Solaris vs. NT?

solaris just runs on a (terminally declining) proprietary hardware with no signs of relief in the foreseeable future.

solaris is the proprietory OS of a vertically integrated company that is up for grabs. IA-64 momentum will drive the
last nail in the coffin.

solaris crutches like the Networtk-pc
have been ridiculed by Moore's law (as demonstrated by even lousy companies like AMD)

the open source a-la-sun-micro is just a placebo for the mentally ill with the "compulsion-to-war against Redmond"

there will be 1B interconnected pc's and that means
wintel (the penguin is just a penguin, put it in the zoo)

if you really want reliable stuff don't go to Scott, he just crashes like the other unixes.
(Lou is a much better proposition, but if you can't afford him, Bill may help)
