I learned that turn of phrase as a small boy many years ago, from a buddy who was trying to teach me how to ride the buses for free. He said"If the ticket collector comes and looks at you as if you hadn't paid, you just look back as if you had" I'm not going to comment on your wife. You may remember I got into enough trouble when Digger said he could't beat his wife on the golf course, and I suggested in fun that he should try beating her before they left the house, and the E-jots protested that I was advocating violence to women..
