It occurs to me that if the RBOCs make FTTH a part of their standard fare, and some of them will, then it would follow that those optical fibers to the neighborhood and to the home, at some point, would become fair game for unbundled network element (UNE) treatment, no? Do you or anyone else here see some form of strategy using structurally separated subsidiaries on the part of the ILECs as a means to circumvent this?
