TRADES for this week and possible candidates for next week.

Hi Clappy,

Good trades. I did just two trades this week. One was EXDS AUG 55 PUT DUBTK. Bought for 3 3/4 and sold for 4 3/4 for a profit of about 25%. Bought SUNW SEP 95 PUT SUXUS at 3 and sold half of it today at 4 1/2 for a profit of 50%. Still holding 1/2 of the SUNW puts. Will probably sell them on Monday. I wish I had held the EXDS puts for a little longer. It is over 9 today. Can't win them all.

Thoughts for next week:
I agree with your thoughts that there might be a relief rally. I will start buying by monday noon if the market looks stable. Still a bit bearish though.

Possible candidates:
AOL - Call: The FCC hearing and lobbying for the TWX merger is going on. Possibly we will hear something good next week. If they clear the way for the merger, I expect the stock to start moving. The last couple of days it has been acting good. Close to average volume and not gone down much. It closed today at 53 13/16. This is more towards the lower end of its current trading range.

YHOO - Call: After the earnings, things have cleared up a bit for Yahoo. I expect it to start moving higher if the market turns around. Closed today at 126 3/4.

AMAT - Call: This has been in a range from March. Now it is in the lower end of the range. Closed today at 74. Was pretty strong all day.

EXDS - Call: There has been a good pullback from 59. If it touches 40, I'll start nibbling, with possibilities of averaging down. They gave good earnings and have guided the next two quarters higher. Closed today at 46 7/8 after trading as low as 44 1/8. Came back well.

SEBL - Call: This also has pulled back considerably from around 190. I will start nibbling if it goes lower than 130. Closed at 136 3/8.

NOK - Call: Had a massive haircut yesterday. Recovered a bit today. I read somewhere that the slowdown that they were talking about is only for the next quarter and that too it is because of transition in products. They have also announced a stock buy back today. Closed at 43 13/16.

CREE - Call: This is your pick. I looked at it and I also like it at this point. It has really come back strong today. After going as low as 97 3/8, closed at 108.

DCLK and ENGA: Both of them have been beaten down due to privacy concerns. But after the FTC decision yesterday, the stocks have moved higher today. DCLK is the leader and bound to do well. ENGA is backed by CMGI. DCLK closed at 36 7/8 and ENGA closed at 10 7/16

I guess we should start putting a disclaimer saying that these are only our thoughts and not buy or sell recommendations, do your own DD etc.:-)

...David
