wm, Thanks for the detailed breakdown of the barriers to entry on the GSM side. Very enlightening to this Non-Techie.

Is it a mirror image for the GSM crowd to produce a GSM/WCDMA chip once they obtain Spinco's x-licensees.

Re Yozan WCDMA chip. Go to the next to last set of slides, slide #3 states Hardware/software in 2000, slide #5 states later half of 2000 for WCDMA key device sample shipment and 2000 for RF module+Modem Chip+controller Chip.
Am I interpeting this wrong and is it that a WCDMA chip is not really a chip until the RF Module,Modem Chip,and Controller Chip are all in one piece of silicone.
