E-commerce technology, a footnote to Mulix.com criticizism?
A successful e-commerce site should be able to handle 60 million hits a day. The hardware scale up and software that can transparently move along is the basis for a good business.
It is generally done with a large enterprise database. The front end could be a commercial object technology software with high level design language to write a program within a program.
Then, we can look at the business model, which should have profit incentive for the users to be willing to pay for the service. Professional services in an exchange format is none existent because of the difficulties in supplying manpower across regional distances. The trusted format has to be ASPs of accounting(Netledger), legal services [(state and federal); (incorporation, lawsuits, and other legal standard forms)], and business consulting (business management in many categories). This business model can avoid the pit falls of have regional manpower limitations, and service clients or members within a single site, using other e-commerce ASPs. It will end up a very large business divided into 50 states and a federal governmental service. Try to raise about $100 million to start with, and find ASP partners and cover their customers.
Good luck on this new venture. How can you start smaller, that is another question for another day? |
