Herb - RE: "Intel will be selling from its old obsolete P6 core the 1.13 GHz P 3 come Monday, available from IBM and DELL. Golly, Dan, I’m sure AMD would love nothing better than to trump the 1.13 GHz but their best shot is only 1.1 due 8/29. I guess that their copper process isn’t worth its weight, well, in copper."
If Intel is releasing a 1.13GHz PIII on Monday, that MUST mean that 1GHz PIIIs are WIDELY available, right?
Right?
Then why in world are IBM and Dell the ONLY places I can find the 1GHz PIII (alone or in systems) for sale on the net?
A 1GHz Athlon (or system) is available through Compaq, Gateway, Hewlett Packard, and over 30 online screwdriver shops.
Did you know Hewlett Packard was a launch partner when the 1GHz PIII came out? Why are they not selling those systems now, but instead selling 1GHz Athlon systems?
Intel's 1GHz PIII release was basically HYPE. They are STILL available in limited quantities and the darn thing came out over FOUR months ago!
Intel is now releasing a 1.13GHz PIII, and you are getting sucked into the HYPE!
All HYPE and NO substance. |
