Ted,

If the ALU does become a problem, what will be its impact on MHz.......roughly. Will it knock the Willamette down to less than 1.75, less than 1.5 etc.?

Do you have any idea?

If the clock skew and jitter were reduced to 100ps, and the latch delay were reduced to 100ps, that would leave only 50ps to do the ALU operations at 4GHz (2GHz CPU speed.) This is nearly impossible, and indicates to me that Willy may never make it to 2GHz, in any technology.

The decision making process at Intel seems to be rather flawed this days, particularly in contrast to the clear, concise, roadmap and execution of AMD.
