Hi multicollinearity; Didn't mean to suggest that Mitsubishi were leaving the memory industry, just that there have been some talk about them going out.

My favorite search engine is out of sorts today, and my backup gives matches without regard to date. Consequently, it is a little painful to find recent articles. But Mitsubishi is a small time player. Right now, we're just second hand speculating that they have an agreements in the works with Rambus, so I really see no need to pursue the issue further. (Of course, I am a bit argumentative...)

There are plenty of small time or ex DRAM players out there, why is Rambus working so hard on signing up the companies that are going to provide almost no revenues? Why not go after the big guys? Why bother inking a deal with Hitachi that only lasts six months? What is going on here?

I think the royalties on DDR and SDRAM are Rambus' only hope for the future. If they can get a couple percent from everybody in the industry the stock will look like quite the bargain at the current price. Where are the agreements with the big guys, both memory and chipset makers?
