smear campaign: In response to your request for a debate on a takover candidate for NETP: I have used up my time ration for posting today but here is a quick response.

There are a number of companies in CRM who might qualify. Steve Harmon started last year by suggesting DCLK, he graduated to KANA and a couple of others he even mentioned IBM and his last suggestion was CMGI.

The strongest rumour has been ORCL - given Larry Ellison's personal nomination of NETP for the Smithsonian prize (it did not win but was in the last 6 out of about 400 entries). And the fact that he included NETP as one of the founding partners of his new e-commerce portal product line.

I could make strong cases for MSFT, IBM, SAP, i2. There are any number of smaller companies in CRM who might fancy it. "Intentional Reality" has done a good analysis on RB. But I think his yen is to look for friendly mergers rather than buy outs.

Instead of a buy out there could be a large equity investment and strategic relationship with a big company.
