Frank,
I've been a long-time user of VV. I agree that it is probably best used by momentum & swing traders. There is some fundamental analysis built into the assessment of each stock's value and, of course, that carries into the VST ranking, but you will see that often "value" swings wildly in reassessments. VV appears to be a largely trend following tool (with attendant risks of buying tops and selling bottoms). For that reason in a market that seems to defy trends, I do not use it exclusively but use it along with AIQ and StockConsultant (a not well-known but inexpensive and terrific short-term screening/timing program -- stockconsultant.com) Of course, none of these, even with good picks, will prevent you from losing money. I believe they work best if you also have some skill in chart reading and market timing. Still, I have found the screening tools in both VV & Stockconsultant will bring a lot of winning stocks to your attention that you would not otherwise know about.

Good luck
