How do I link an image or text in my profile to another web page?

The HTML "anchor" tag used to create a link is <A>. You place the address of the
page you want to link in quotes after the attribute HREF=, as seen in the following
examples:

<A HREF="http://www.usga.org/">Click Here!</A>

<A HREF="http://www.usga.org/"><IMG SRC="http://home.earth.net/~vgdoc/golf.gif" BORDER=0></A>

If space for your html is problematic in your profile, you can usually get away
without using the quotes. In the first example your text will be underlined in
your profile to identify it as a hyperlink. In the second example above the
attribute BORDER=0 is used to prevent a default border being placed around
your image. If you want a border, either don't use the attribute or increase
the thickness from 0. Always be sure to use the end tag </A>.

Note: The top portion of the profile page is limited to 99 HTML characters, while
the second portion of your profile is limited to 250 HTML characters. Therefore,
you may or may not have enough space to link another web page to an image in the
top portion of your profile.

Note: SI offers you the opportunity to list your favorite links in a special area
of your profile. If you use this area, be sure not to use the http:// in the section
labeled Address of Web Site. They already provide this part of the address
for you.

Note: One of the biggest mistakes people make in their profiles is that they
forget the window on the form is smaller than the number of characters it allows.
If your HTML doesn't work, scroll back and forth to make sure you don't have
some unintentional HTML included!
