Hi Ga, K.,Toes, Cisco, Bro and all-
Daniel is just off my door step.
It is currently sunny and warm but very windy with building gusts that are beginning to shake the house.
From my loft room here I can look out North East to South East over the ocean for many miles.
E by NE I can see a long line of gray clouds close to the horizon with an arching dome of white cloud in the center-this is Daniel.

The ocean is getting rougher an I plan to walk down there and check it out soon.
We still expect alot of wind and rain and huge surf tonight.
They have opened the emergency shelters on the Big Island and some of the others as well. Flooding makes the roads hazardous and the surf can take out homes on the shore.
All public beaches on this windward side are closed.

Daniel still carries winds sustained at 55knots with gusts to 75, but is still weakening and has drifted out off shore a little farther..taking all the real fun out of it.

Oh well, I have my house all tied down and ready for the next one, though an earthquake is more likely; or a lava flow really, compared to the number of hurricanes that reach landfall here with direct hits.

All is well, thanks for all your concerns, and in the case of Cisco-yeah, good call to miss this one, though sitting on my roof tied to our deck chairs still sounds fun at 75knots,

Puna
