Joe: The answer is yes, you will have a long term gain on your PALM sale if you sell now, because you are deemed to have held your PALM as long as you held your COMS. See the relevant section in the COMS info sheet: 3com.com And I'd suggest you double check with your broker, accountant or tax preparer if you're not sure. David T.
