You ask an interesting question.

The short answer is no... I haven't given WIND much
consideration yet...

I saw the reference to WIND in Landis' interview and
thought I should look into it more. I'm slightly
familiar with their products since, at my job, we're
always putting together real-time systems (typically,
for one-of-a-kind proof-of-concept/demonstration
type of government-funded R&D projects) involving
lots of DSP chips... but I don't know anyone in our
company who is actually using any WIND products.
In many systems, we don't use any operating system
at all... we just download the compiled application
into the target DSP system (from a Unix host) and
let it loose. In some systems, we use the real-time
OS supplied by the hardware vendor (in particular,
we've used Mercury Computer System's hardware &
software). So, while I have an awareness of WIND
and have only heard good things about them and
their products... I haven't really seen first hand
where their products are needed. Do you have some
better understanding of the market for WIND products?
