UUNET Italia Selects NHC's VCCS
NHC Partner Allcom Telecomunicazioni to Provide Global Leader in Internet Communications Solutions with NHC's VCCS DSL Solution
MONTREAL, July 31 /CNW-PRN/ - NHC Communications Inc. (TSE: NHC - news), a leading provider of carrier class test access and deployment solutions for the Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) service market, announced today that UUNET Italia, a WorldCom company, has chosen NHC Communications Virtual Cross- Connect System (VCCS(TM)) for DSL technology deployment.
NHC Communications VCCS(TM) solution is the only true any-to-any cross- connect matrix capable of remotely performing four key fundamental requirements that are at the heart of all the operations performed by Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) through their network telecommunications infrastructure. The requirements are loop qualification, provisioning, fallback switching and service migration.
``NHC's automated cross-connect allows us to combine multiple DSL vendor products around VCCS(TM) protocol independent/open architecture and provide critical support and deployment applications required by our clients,'' said Fabrizio Rapisarda, Direttore Tecnico of UUNET Italia. ``Since we have been extending our offerings automating the physical cross-connects at our collocations will provide more controls in European markets'', said Mr. Rapisarda.

The two companies are currently planning the method and markets in which UUNET Italia will purchase and use VCCS. To date no formal contract has been put into place between UUNET Italia and NHC Communications. |
