Just finished listening to the Wingcast call. While I want to listen again, my first take is we have a winner. Some immediate high points:

>The model - thin client, fat server - I believe is exactly the right way to go. Allows continuous expansion and upgrading of services offered with minimal change to car.

>Plan to bring the service to Europe soon! Means CDMA is going to Europe, one way or another. (Can I hear Mercedes-Chrysler on the phone?)

>I thought the emphasis on Qualcomm's OmniTracs experience (coverage, service, and safety) was important also. This has been done, is being done. Now they just have to direct it towards passenger cars.

>Got the impression a lot more is known. We can expect a series of announcements as they move towards rollout next year.

>Just the whole way they are approaching it - new company, independent, untied to the huge mother ship (Ford) - tells me these guys have been doing their homework.

I know there is more, but that's it for now.
