NEW YORK, July 31 (Reuters) - Lucent Technologies Inc. , the world's biggest telecommunications equipment maker, said on Monday it signed a $300 million contract with Brazilian phone company Telemar . The company said in a statement that it would supply $300 million in goods and services to Telemar through 2002. The deal includes financing. Lucent will supply Telemar switching and access products and services as well as in wireless local loop systems. The company also will provide services and products in communications software, billing systems, and professional services. Telemar, or Tele Norte Leste Participacoes, operates fixed-line services in northeastern Brazil.
