From WRS JavaOne conference summary
wrs.com

Across the hall was Hitachi, which showed off its SH-4 family of microprocessors. Many of the world’s digital consumer electronics systems -- from digital cameras to webpads -- already use the SH family of 32-bit CPUs. But as if to underscore Hitachi’s growing strength in car information systems, its demo was none other than that of both native and Java application code simulating a car information and navigation system running on its SH-4 evaluation board. Interestingly enough, the application code was on loan from Xanavi Informatics, one of the world’s major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for car information systems. Xanavi, a Wind River customer, also happens to be a Hitachi/Nissan joint venture, so there appears to be a link back to Hitachi.
