The other huge advantage of digital photography that you neglected to mention is how easy it is to touch up the photo after the fact. With my coolpix 800 I have concluded that pix taken during low light is NOT a problem anymore because any graphics program (e.g. Photoshop, or Photoeditor) can easily "correct" the brightness, contrast, gamma, or hue. Many if not most "substandard" pix can be touched up in such manner to a highly satisfying result. Gary > Forget "low light" shots as the the 990 can't see much in the dark. My earlier SLR would send out an IR image in such cases but the Coolpix seems to rely upon whatever light is already there..
