Scumbria,

re: "Apparently Intel is not satisfied with their zero presence in the retail market at 1GHz, and now plan on adding zero presence of 1.1GHz systems.

Intel doesn't sell into the retail marketplace, Intel's customers determine where a their PC's will be sold. I suspect that the 1GHz and now the 1.13GHz are pretty high ticket for retail, and the box makers figure that they are better off selling those systems into the corporate market, my guess is for premium dollars.

re: According to Tom, it may be a good thing that the 1.1GHz chips don't actually exist, because apparently they don't work either.

What is going on with Intel's management? They are behaving like a bunch of rank amateurs.

Scumbria, do you really believe Tom over Intel? Do you really believe Intel would release a microprocessor that "doesn't work"?

The "rank amateurs" comment is at least premature, wait until you get the facts.

John
