<Who's being naive?>

Most Americans don't vote anymore. They don't look up to their Presidents as role models. You must be living in the 50's. Tricky Dicky Nixon put a nail in that coffin like role model view.

The Republican national convention started today. Who's going to be watching? Not the vast majority of Americans.

There have been plenty of better role models in this country than our ex-Presidents, like Walt Disney, Susan B. Anthony, Amelia Earheart, Billy Jean King ( nice tennis match on behalf of Women's rights when she beat Bobby Chauvinistic Riggs), Martin Luther King, Harriet Beacher Stowe, Eleanor Roosvelt, Maria Talchief, Helen Keller and her great teacher, Anne Sullivan, even Ralph Nader, to name a few.

Role Models come from the Parents of Children. I don't know one parent who has raised their children to extol a President. Respect, yes. Role model, absolutely not.
