613 - on NTOP making money

NTOP revenue streams (non IM))

International retail minutes (high margins)
Domestic retail minutes (crap margins)
Commercial retail minutes (see today's PR)
Gateways - either NTOP's own or licensing model (ala QCOM)
Click2Talk

Benefits/revenues from IM agreements (ICQ/MSN/Yahoo)

Ad revenue
Cross sell opportunity for YAP gear
Cross sell for regular phone services

613 - I think the IM deals are more a cross-selling and mindshare/marketing move than a direct revenue deal - ad rev won't be much more than cost of services.

The significance of all of this, is that if NTOP technology is adopted as a standard for VoIP, it's all over - it's QCOM II! To get a home run like this though, you have to get everyone using your stuff. Sometimes that requires providing free services.
