Kahn, I would have to say that in the area of primary disposable batteries for cellphones and the Palm Pilot that the competitors are all primary disposable battery companies. Eveready, Duracell and Rayovac. The problem with these companies entrance into the primary disposable battery market for cellphones is that all of their entries have failed because consumers want more power from their current cellphone batteries. A typical alkaline power pak for a cell phone from Duracell will last about the same length of time as a NiCad or LiIon rechargeable battery. Consumers want the convenience of disposables but they want more power and are willing to pay a higher price.

Eveready's new Titanium battery series is being marketed on the assumption that consumers want more power from their batteries and are willing to pay for it.
