Cypress Introduces Industry's First 533 MHz Direct RAMBUS Clock Generator
High-Speed DRCGs Enable Next Level of Performance for Communications Systems
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2000--Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY - news) today introduced the industry's first 533MHz Direct RAMBUS(TM) Clock Generator (DRCG) specifically designed for use in high bandwidth applications such as in communications, graphics and consumer applications that require precise high speed clock generation.
The 533MHz DRCG will be offered in two versions -- the W134-25 and W134-35. The two versions are pin-compatible with each other and support different frequency multiplier tables to give design engineers the flexibility to choose reference input frequencies. Complementing the Cypress W134M and W134S, the industry's first RAMBUS®-validated 400MHz DRCGs, the 533MHz DRCG was designed to focus on addressing cutting edge applications that require ultra-high-speed memory. The 533MHz DRCG extends Cypress's existing line of Direct RAMBUS Clock Generators, which includes the W134M/ W134S and the high performance CY2212 DRCG-Lite, currently being used in gaming applications.

Price and Availability
Samples of the W134-25 and W134-35 are available now in 24-pin 150-mil Shrink Small Outline Packages (SSOP). Production volumes will be available first quarter of 2001at $7.50 for quantities of 10,000.
