SbH,

re: "3. Any study of types of network traffic within a sample of major universities will probably settle the argument of what percentage of internet traffic is consumed by the mp3 files.

Just a data point. From a chart in yesterday's WSJ, the largest and fasted growing Napster demographic is age 34 to 54.

(My opinion, many of the downloads are from folks that like a few (not contemporary) songs, but can't find them, or wouldn't be willing to pay the price for an entire CD for one or two songs. The music marketplace hasn't provided a solution for this, and I think that's a large part of the attraction of Napster. I am continually amazed at how many folks will have a Billie Holiday or Beethoven or Steve Goodman collection next to a few contemporary files in their Napster library. Where would these folks find this music if not for Napster?)
