How's it going with those copper FABs Intel thought it didn't need but is suddenly racing to build? Will they be ready by Q4? Q2 of 01? Q4 of 01? How about Q2 of 2002?
Dan
Dan, I hate to burst your bubble, but copper fabs don't need to be "built".
Fabs are not designed for one specific process, or another, they're designed based on level of cleanliness.
A Class 100 Cleanroom can have no more that 100 particles > 100 microns, per cubic foot of airspace, a class 10 can't have more than 10 particles >10 microns in size, and the highest designation, is Class 1, which is having no more than 1 particle > 1 micron in size per cubic foot.
Today, intel Fabs, that are already reported to be class 1, are Fab11, Fab12, Fab17, Fab18, IFO, (Ireland F10/F14), and both Development Sites D1B and D2.
