Saw NOK's 1999 Annual Report last night. The person responsible for its layout has a wicked sense of humor. The first photograph is that of a surfer at Half Moon Bay. Probably one of the QCOM Moderated or Coming into Buy Range posters. The Report otherwise does not impress me. The figures and results do, of course. However, the Report does not adequately inform shareholders concerning 3G. I was surprised to learn that the Board of Directors is populated mostly by bankers and insurance company executives. A distinguished economist is a member. Except for Jarma Olilla, no scientists or engineers that I can recall are on the Board. Perhaps a Finnish Board of Directors is not as active as in America.
