Cookies are appropriate as house elves run the kitchens in HP.

I've read a few good books lately:

Maverick : The Success Story Behind the World's Most Unusual Workplace by Ricardo Semler (paperback)
(Proof that you really can treat employees as intelligent responsible adults.)

Any of these travel/adventure journals by Eric Newby
The Last Grain Race (a sailing story)
A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush (mountain climbing)
Slowly Down the Ganges
(and many more, all nice new paperback editions from Lonely Planet)

The Millionaire Mind by Thomas Stanley
(expands on The Millionaire Next Door but still interesting)

Stanley recommends this book:
Successful Intelligence : How Practical and Creative Intelligence Determine Success in Life by Robert Sternberg

There are many good books discussed on theconnection.org (which you can listen to via on-line recordings) with this recent one sounding interesting

From Dawn to Decadence - 500 Years of Western Cultural Life, 1500 to Present by Jacques Barzun

and any of Ha Jin's works
Waiting (most recent, hardback)
In the Pond (paperback)
Ocean of Words: Stories

I can also recommend some good books on computer programming if you are having trouble sleeping <g>
