Mr Peter Bennett reports The company has released its newest digital voice recorder, the Comfile 1000. Instant access and call logging are just two of the numerous capabilities on its impressive list of benefits for small and mid size business operations and public safety. Recording from PSTN and PBX telephone lines, the Comfile 1000 provides up to 550 channel hours of unattended recording. Record and replay options are available from four to 16 channels. Expansion is easily accommodated with growth capacity in four channel increments. The Comfile 1000 digital compression technology allows up to 240 channel hours of storage on a hard drive, and 550 additional channel hours stated on the online Digital Audio Tape. Ease of use is key to the success of the Comfile 1000. Controls may be manipulated from the front panel as a stand-alone system or serially from the customer's own PC via the standard GUI (Graphical User Interface). Retrieval of information by time, date, line or dialed number are all executed instantly by a simple point and click operation. Recording and replay can be achieved simultaneously with no loss of data. With increasing numbers of business exchanges and critical decisions taking place over telephone lines, voice recording systems are not only for emergency services. For example, the need for auditable records of voice transactions has expanded to legal, medical, financial and insurance services as well. Voice recording is the only practical solution in circumstances requiring immediate and indisputable verification of conversations, and situations where voice transactions or instructions might result in liability.
