7/31/00 - Commonwealth Completes FRAC of the Bedsole #1 Well in Texas
Commonwealth Energy Corp. ("Commonwealth" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the FRAC on the Bossier Formation in the Bedsole #1 well was successfully completed on Thursday, July 27, 2000. The FRAC design which is utilized throughout the East Texas region was the correct design for the Bossier Formation in the Bedsole #1 well and went away exactly as planned.
The size of the FRAC was 7,700 Barrels of fluid and sand. The expected recovery of the excess FRAC fluid is 3,000 – 3,500 barrels. As of 7:00 a.m. on July 30, 2000, 2,100 Barrels of fluid had been recovered. The well is currently unloading the fluid on its own up the 7-inch casing. It was expected that by this time the 2 ½ inch tubing would have needed to be reinserted in the well in order to completely unload the FRAC fluid. However, the well has sustained enough pressure to continue to unload on its own without the help of the tubing.

The total estimated weight of the 14,000 foot, 7-inch column with 458 barrels of fluid is 6,000 pounds. The bottom hole pressure in the well at present is in excess of 8,000 pounds. As of Sunday, July 30 at 7:00 a.m. the flow of gas through the FRAC fluid had increased to 650,000 Cubic Feet of Gas / Day and spiked to over 1,000,000 Cubic Feet of Gas / Day. The gas flow continues to increase as the FRAC fluid weight decreases and is recovered from the well column and the Bossier formation.

After all the excess FRAC fluid has been recovered from the formation, a 4-point flow test will be conducted and the results of this test will be announced by way of a further Media Release as soon as they are made available to the Company.
