I found out a bit more on SOFO and it appears from what I've been told that there shouldn't be copyright problems that can surface with their products. An individual may use their products and violate copyright laws but this is much the same way that anyone who uses a CD/Writer or cassette deck can violate the law by making a copy of a song. This is way different from Napster who's sole purpose was to by-pass the copyrights of musicians and duplicate their products. SOFO's products are designed for music/sound and now video production. Their ACID and VEGAS products are getting rave reviews.

I just looked at the stock and I see that it fell of the map and is now below double digits at the end of the day.

I sure hope nobody bought on my initial post!!!

A good friend of mine has over $1k worth of their software and really likes the products. He finds them very easy to use and well designed. He mentioned the only major shortcoming was they were still using 16 bit music format and that he felt they should have the 24bit/96hz format available. This isn't that big of a deal since CDs are still using 16bit formats and only professionals or very serious hobbyists would require the 24/96 format. Since my friend isn't up on what requirements are necessary for a good company to be a good stock, I tried to quiz him as best I could about the potential for the stock's success. I'll need to dig more into the fundamentals of the company and the resent acquisitions in an attempt to put a 'valuation model' together for SOFO. I will add that one analyst had a $50/12 month price target on the stock, not that I'll blindly trust any analyst<g>!! It's difficult to say at this stage of my research whether or not I will consider SOFO for a long term investment as the stock is up over 100% from the IPO.

More on SOFO to follow later......
