Hi Ice^3,
While Corvis has been successful with the Broadwing test, and seems close to contract with WCG, the Qwest results seem to be "down the line". And, while the buzz around Corvis has been very good, I'm trying to answer this question - Will Corvis be able to turn the likes of Ben Vos of Sprint into paying customers? I know that it was relatively straightforward to get into tests at WCG. All that had to happen was that Matt Bross, WCG's CTO was handed millions of dollars worth of shares in CORV. Can and will CORV be able to have the same influence over other decision makers in the carrier industry? I don't have that answer, I wished I did. Refering to the EETimes article cited below, I would say that the key to assessing CORV's eventual success in the marketplace is to assess its ability to deal with network intelligence. That means, on the most basic level, how good are CORV's software engineers and how well focused are they on these softswitching issues and at OAP&M? Once we can answer that question, we will know CORVs eventual fate.
