thanks for the kind words...i regard Hayes as a great market observer. one of the old hands who's seen it all and is dispassionate in his analysis. haven't followed him since he became a subscription service, but i remember his previous updates well. considering that WS as a whole would happily lead the sheep to slaughter... consider this: yesterday the Paine Webber, today the MWD strategist comes out with an extremely rosy bullish market forecast. and at the same time the commercials net short position in the spoos is at a record high. i have yet to hear this fact mentioned anywhere on WS...likewise the total collapse of the SMI is studiously ignored. one MER guy was reporting on it as recently as Q1. in the meantime the disposition of this gauge has become more alarming by several orders of magnitude - and not a peep anymore. looking forward to the 'what were we thinking' specials... good night.
