I haven't seen "Babette's Feast". Now I'm going to have to rent it. I was thinking of comedies to mention, but I think the problem is that there is no one comedy that for me exemplifies the genre. My favorite at this time would have to be Animal House, but that would just reveal how arrested-juvenile I really am. So I never said that, huh? I like the very concept of comedy. Laughter for its own sake, because laughter is good, restorative. "The Gods Must Be Crazy" occupies a very high place on any list I would make. For me it captures much of the universal delight of being human. The whole idea of fundamentally happy contented people is somehow really appealing.
